Fcc. carbon has been shown to have purely face-centered cubic structure, which makes it the fourth allotropic form of carbon where bonds between the carbon atoms are formed by non-hybridized electron orbitals. Crystal structure, electronic structure, and electrophys. properties of single phase fcc. carbon films were studied, and the exptl. data were supplied with simulations using modified LCAO method and the Mott-Hubbard approxn.
